Letter Writing
Letter writing is rarely touched upon at any grade level but Valentine’s Day opens up a great time to talk briefly on the subject and structure of a letter.
I found this great resource on Teachers Pay Teachers by Babbling Abby. What I liked about this letter is that it is very simple, fun if printed on a colored piece of paper, and can be used for literally any grade level. Let’s face it, when you ask a 5th grader to write a letter they tend to have forgotten the proper parts that you need from the heading to the signature.
I found a great anchor chart example from FirstieLand that looks like this:
I am excited to try this fun idea out for all of my students from K-5th and use this to let their creativity flow.
This would fit under the following standards for each level:
