Virtual Scavenger Hunt

Today I worked on a virtual scavenger hunt to surprise my students this Friday for Summer School. I of course used Canva and had to share with you something fun if you are trying to get your students interested in your zoom Summer School sessions.

I am lucky enough to have an aid for my online Summer School so how we do 2 groups for 20 minutes each. We usually are on zoom for 50 minutes to an hour tops and we get quite a bit done. Students work with me on their math and reading goals. While another group works with my aid to do something fun, it is Summer after all.

I thought I’d show you just how easy it really is to create a fun virtual scavenger hunt.

1. First I went to Canva and used this Peach Siblings background.

2. Next I deleted the picture and fake tape and added a box with some text and pictures. If you scroll through the pictures they have some pretty cute and free ones.

3. I then saved it as a PNG and uploaded it to my Google Classroom.

Here is the final result:

That’s all! My aid is going to explain the rules and ask follow up questions for my students on Friday. I like to try and do a few fun and surprise things with my students over zoom to peak their interest. They are a lot more willing to work on their goals when they know they get to do something fun after!

Until next time,

Happy Teaching :)
