Postcards

This week starts phase 2 at our school. Basically, we are starting to send out packets for the next 3 weeks of distance learning. I am also trying to make sure that all of my students find the time to sign onto our google classroom because I am able to send them a lot of fun activities and videos through the platform.

To help remind them about signing on to google classroom, I sent out some super fun postcards. I also thought it would be a fun surprise for my students to receive in the mail. What child doesn’t love to get a surprise in the mail?

I found these fun and free postcards by Carolyn Hacker here on TPT. What I liked about this Postcard resource is that they are editable! This means I can edit the front picture and write that it’s from me.. I also realized when doing these post cards that I had no idea how to fill them out exactly. I don’t think I’ve ever sent one out so here is a visual to help you out if you are making them from scratch thanks to wiki:

I loved this idea so much I am planning to send out introduction post cards next year before school starts. I am working at a different and had been trying to think of. a fun way to introduce myself to parents and students before school starts. I am definitely doing this now! I will be working on making them more personalized to our class over the next few weeks.

I hope this gave you a fun idea for your students, I’ve even heard of projects teachers are doing right now where they have them write to each other during the quarantine. How fun and a great writing assignment! I hope this gave you some creative ideas to connect with your students from a distance.

As always,

Happy Teaching :)
