How to have FUN in your class

From January to March is a HARD time for teachers, why? Because there’s no breaks to let every one wind down it’s work 24/7 with no time to turn it off so I thought to help get through it I’d set some new personal teaching goals for myself of things I’ve always wanted to do. They look so fun but I’ve yet to do them so here it is:

1-Do a classroom makeover

Have you seen these? They are sooo cool and fun. Search it on Pinterest to see what I’m talking about. I want to talk about a few new topics for a month and then end it with a fun bang by transforming my entire classroom. I think if we did a candy land theme to talk about colors one day would be an absolute blast!!!!

2-Offer prizes

My classroom has had perfect attendance three days in a row and I am soooo over the moon proud and I realized I have completely stopped doing prizes, what?! Everything has been paperwork galore that I have forgotten to show my kids what it’s all for, the fun prizes, duhhhhh. But in all seriousness offering class goals gets me just if not more hyped up for my students.

3- More 1 on 1 time with students

I feel like I don’t get to super play with my students anymore because I’m more focused on collecting data for goals. So instead I want to set some time for me to just play with them. I get to learn so many things about them from pure playing to figure out their likes and dislikes that help me when we get to working on goals.

If you’re feeling the teacher blues think of something new you’d like to try to turn that frown upside down and keep the fun rolling in your classroom! Every time this year I feel exhausted and in dire need of a break but coming up with new ideas to use with your students can really help push through these past few months of little to no breaks.

Happy Teaching :)
