Online Wishlist with Amazon

With the new school year around the corner I am sure all of the teachers wishlist are starting to be created. This year to make things easier on you, parents, and friends who offer to help you out there is Amazon Wishlist. Now this is my first time I will be using this for my parents so I will update you all on how it goes, but it seems super simple.

What I did:

  1. I created a wishlist by going to my Amazon account & lists. Click the drop down carrot and put your mouse on the left where it says create list.

2. Then a window will pop up asking you to name your list.

3. Now you are ready to start adding to your list. Find items on Amazon and add it to your list by clicking on the right side of the page where it says ADD TO LIST. The drop down should have your new list you just created as an option.

4. To share it make sure that it is posted as public by going to the list and clicking MORE on the top right corner. Click MANAGE LIST and change it from PRIVATE to PUBLIC.

5. I am then sharing the link via QR code on my back to school letter. To do this you will click in the top right corner SHARE. I chose view only and copied that link. I then went to QR code generator and pasted the link in the box on the left. Then on the right I was given my QR code.

6. I will take a screen shot of the QR code and paste to my letter! Make sure to give instructions in case people haven’t used a QR code before to have them open their camera on the phone and click the link that pops up. I will also be letting them know it’s a guide of main snacks and tools we use daily in the classroom so if they get them from the store instead of Amazon to go for it.

I hope this gave you an idea of how to make your wishlist easy and accessible for parents to refer to whenever they need it.

Happy Teaching :)
