Is my Classroom Inclusive?

Inclusivity of students with disabilities who are in general education for >40-79% of the time has declined from 2009-2020 according to NCES (National Center for Education Statistics). That is why it is so important to ensure that we are all creating an inclusive learning environment that all students have access too. I’m a teacher though so I know how quickly it can become overwhelming when trying to create an inclusive environment. That’s why I created this infographic (see below) as a tool for teachers to use and ask themselves mentally when creating an inclusive learning environment:

If you realized that you have some areas that aren’t inclusive after reading this make a list and start with one item to improve! Slowly go from there until you are able to grow and create inclusive learning environments and lessons for all students. I hope this helped jumpstart your classroom inclusivity thinking and until next time,

Happy Learning
