Virtual Cooking Class
This past Friday I taught my first Virtual Cooking Class and we had a blast! I created a fun bitmoji classroom. I started out with my hook which was showing the students 5 fun facts about PB & J. This got everyone interested and excited for the lesson.
I then took a poll and asked everyone the questions above. For a response they had to give a thumbs up or thumbs down.
I then showed them what items they would need. I try to use visuals more than anything for my population of students who are pre-readers.
I then went over oral and visual instructions on how we would assemble the sandwich and then I used my Elmo and actually made it live.
Lastly, we played a boom card game I made that was based on everything they had learned.
After this lesson I realized that some students were following along with items they had at home. I decided the next week to give parents a heads up so that they can provide items if they want for their student to follow along with.
This was so much fun and I can not wait to do this in person when everyone is back but for now this works great!
Happy Teaching :)
