I SPY Art
On Monday I found this super fun I Spy Game made by Dabbles and Babbles . I wanted to create something more for my kids, and my homework project (had to be a fine motor art project). So, I thought that allowing my kids to create their own I SPY game would be perfect!
The reason I like this art project is because kids can use anything they have at home. With virtual learning it is hard to find something that will be accessible to everyone. Some projects need odd things that not everyone has at home. What I do know is that they have at least 10 random things they can find to glue onto this fun art page.
My directions to my students is to look around for 10 different things. It can be multiples of those different things like I did in my example or one of each. They have to glue/ stick/paint the items they find onto the blank I Spy Worksheet.
They then have to work writing onto the key what each item is. Spelling doesn't count as long as they try their best. And they can of course phone a family/friend to ask how to spell things. This is a fun and simple activity that will get the students up and moving around. They can make it a family event where everyone makes one and they switch having to find one or two things in each members I Spy game. The possibilities are literally endless in how creative these can get.
I made these worksheet free on my Teachers Pay Teachers too- click this link to go download it.
I know that some students may not be able to print this out so I came up with a virtual game also. They can copy and paste images from the web and type into the google slide document to fill in the key. To see how I did that, visit this video that gives you a great step by step guide. By making this a virtual I Spy it can also be accommodated for our older students. You could push it further by having them share with a friend to find a hidden shape or picture everyone has to hide in their virtual I Spy.
The best part about this blank sheet is how easy you can accommodate it for any grade level. Change the directions to focus on a history topic or vocabulary words. As you can see, the possibilities are literally endless in how creative these can get.
Happy Teaching :)
